Homosexuality displayed in the media

What do you picture when you picture a gay guy? Many will say flamboyant, outgoing, well dressed, nice hair etc. Now tell me what you think of when you think of a lesbian girl? Tough, strong willed tom boy, frumpy clothing, short hair etc. These are the stereotypes for homosexual people, which are displayed way too often in the media. One of the only times when a homosexual in the media isn't shown like this, is when they're making a joke out of the stereotypes. In all reality when you walk down a street in somewhere like Toronto you will pass a homosexual that most likely doesn't follow the stereotypes. I think the media should display homosexuals without these stereotypes. They should be displayed like everyone else. I think that would stop a lot of the homophobic behaviour in today’s world. Look at this picture; now tell me can you tell which is gay. No you can't, the outside image of someone doesn't prove anything.
